EMERGENCY PATIENT EVACUATION
Evac-U Slide Pad (ESP)
The ESP has been carefully designed and extensively tested to ensure the safety of the patient and those
responsible for them when the unthinkable happens.

Easy to understand instructions on the front of the bag remain visible even when the ESP has been
removed from the bag.

High density 2" thick foam base, along with head and foot pads, give
extremely good protection from accidental knocks from any obstruction
that may be encountered, e.g. walls, corners, doors, stairs etc..

Large panels either side, which wrap around the
patient, are secured in place with 2 high strength
straps and buckles giving he patient a comfortable
and secure feeling. This aids in keeping them calm
in a very nerve racking situation.

The slide pad is designed in such a way that the patient can be placed in the pad in either direction.
There is no head or foot section to this pad.  It is the same in both directions, one less thing for the
rescuers to worry about.

Movement of the patient is easily achieved due to the smooth and resilient material
from which the pad is constructed.  Manoeuvrability is excellent as there are the same
handles at both ends.  With rescuers in front and back, corners, doors and
stairs are easily manageable. The descent of stairs is particularly simple.
With one person in front holding the handle closest to the ESP -
which gives good control of the front edge - the “brake” person
behind controls the speed of descent.  The material and the
foam pad actually help in the control of speed on the
stairs which results in surprisingly little effort
required by the “brake” person.  The reaction of the
person in the ESP went from understandable concern
at the head of the stairs to complete relief on the way down.
Quote “There was no bumpety bump going down and I did not slip in the pad at all. I felt very safe”
